Catherine Haro

Catherine Haro is a French painter, born in 1979 in the city of Saint Étienne.

She encountered painting as a teenager thanks to the artist Jacqueline Girin. Catherine found in this art form an emotional outlet, a way to express everything she could not say with words. Since then, the passion never left her.

She works with oil paints and painting knives, to create thick textures. The artist exaggerates lines, accentuates poses, caricatures expressions, sometimes to the point of grotesque.

In her paintings, she depicts worried groups of characters, often female. Fragile subjects, precariously balanced in a world full of uncertainties.

The canvas becomes a kind of small theater where emotions are transformed into story.

Catherine Haro exhibits regularly.

Her paintings are part of numerous private collections in France and abroad.
