Claude GÉAN

This established artist, well known to art lovers, has had exhibitions in prestigious galleries and salons in the capital, such as the exhibitions of “French artists” at the “Grand Palais” on the Champs Elysées, or at the Armées national exhibitions at the Orangery of the Senate and even in numerous salons and galleries in Toulouse and its region.

Rich in a broad creative period of more than 30 years, his site offers expressive works from his first season and other more recent, contemporary ones, with this permanent evolution, thanks to both his treatise and his subjects of inspiration.

An atypical and original artist, where the representative takes on a particular meaning, bringing together the line of the drawing, the artistic considerations, the richness of the texture and the subtle vibrations of the colors. We discover the architectural destructuring of its villages, highlighted by wire silhouettes and sensual girls who expose themselves as in the “red light district” of Amsterdam. All his paintings together speak to us about life.

An independent soul, the emotional rhythm that emerges from his work testifies to his creative force and his intellectual values which symbolize painting in general.

Self-taught contemporary artist, Claude Gean, initially trained in “research”, continues to discover new effects in textures which reinforces the line of drawing which is often very academic but sometimes freer and more spontaneous, guided by the unconscious.

He has never left the field of art as a technical director in his advertising agency, practicing computer-aided design and printing on all media.

His works of art painted in oil or acrylic are, depending on the subject or purpose, produced on cotton canvas stretched on a wooden frame, or piece of wood always in the studio and preferably under artificial light.

Painting is his writing, from which emerges a feeling which expresses his complex personality, at the same time idealistic, independent, pragmatic but not devoid of deep fantasies.
