Daniel Agboiteme is a Nigerian painter based in Benin City. Trained at Auchi Polytechnic, he explores the human face and figure as a way to reveal character, struggle, and resilience. Working in acrylic on canvas, his practice moves from detailed figurative drawing to his current series where bold light breaks through grey tones, inspired by Baroque chiaroscuro.
From Figure to Light
This portfolio spans two phases of my practice. Earlier works explore anatomy, expression, and form through detailed figurative painting. My current “Light Studies” series builds on that foundation, using dramatic light against grey to reveal inner character and carry the theme of hope. Together, these works show my commitment to painting the human condition with honesty and light.
