Marek Jerzy Nowakowski

I am a graduate of the Faculty of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań (Poland).

What is important to me in sculpture is the subject and making it durable. The thought it contains is just as important as 2,000 years ago. Bronze is the perfect material to withstand time. I work in bronze in the lost wax technology, I cast my works by myself, leaving my mark on them.

The recipient’s choice is whether they will pay attention to it, understand it and find something for themselves.

Major exhibitions:

– Individual exhibition in Berliner Botanic Museum

– A Week of Polish Culture in Berlin

– Gallery Brantebjerg Denmark/Zelandia

– Painen Gallery in Berlin

Among more important prizes – silver medal for sculpture “Face to the Ground” on Sculpture Salon Spring 1997 in Warsaw.
