My work explores memory as an unstable territory where fragility, absence, and permanence coexist. Through solitary figures and the recurring presence of red fish, I create scenes in which the everyday takes on a symbolic dimension.
I am interested in what remains despite the passage of time: memories, emotions, and the invisible traces that contribute to the construction of our identity. The fish function as a recurring presence within this visual universe, connected to memory, desire, and that which remains beyond our reach.
Through oil painting, I work with visible brushwork, materiality, and the contrast between areas of silence and spaces of greater chromatic intensity. I seek to create suspended atmospheres in which the figures seem to inhabit a time of their own. Rather than offering a closed narrative, my intention is to create open-ended images that allow viewers to recognize their own memories, emotions, and experiences within the work.
