Modern society is permeated by a virus of self-admiration. The apogee of this disease was expressed in general selfie-addiction. What does a modern person do when he or she sees a non-standard and sometimes dangerous situation? He is in a hurry to help, no; he photographed it on his or her gadget.
In my work I display our society at the time of his narcissism. Each of the heroes of the picture froze in a bizarre pose, each of them wants to capture himself as beautifully as possible and it does not matter that the photo is taken next to the dying man. After all, they see in him only beautiful flesh. At the same time, the viewer sees this situation from the outside – these are unnatural people in silly poses. It is no coincidence that the work consists of three separate parts. Thus, I wanted to draw a parallel with the medieval winged altarpiece, to show what our society has come to. In the foreground we see the figure of a dying colossus – as a symbol of a passing era and its ideals. This hero represents a perfect image based on the aesthetics of the Renaissance. The viewer can draw a parallel and compare how our society has changed and what is really important for a modern person.

In the life of modern man densely entered expressions with a prefix “Fake”. We hear it from the first persons of the state on TV or read it in the publications of internet bloggers. But each of them puts in it his owned understanding. And indeed, there are many fakes around us. This situation affects on all areas of our lives and should find its echo in contemporary art. With the help of my work I want to formulate what it is mean to me, how I see fake reality. Because in the modern world not everything is actually what we think. Many things have different meaning. Sometimes it is difficult to understand the true essence of things now. The most important role in my project plays READYMADE or found objects. The images on the works of the «Fake reality» project created on a background that consisting of utilitarian objects that we use every day – the elements of mass culture. In the modern multipolar and multinational world art and art objects got dissolved in the routine human life. Modern consumer society creates fake idols. Even high value ideals and significance guidelines become empty and commercial. So the image of the Mother of God turns into a game, and on her knees she keeps not a holy baby, but a plastic doll. And the concept of prayer itself becomes a game. After changing only one letter you can change the whole meaning of the phrase. By using “Readymade” objects I show how advertising, mass media influence on the person and create fake reality.

Cover art of The Central Dissent: A Journal of Gender and Sexuality, the University of Central Oklahoma, USA.
In this artwork I turn to the problem of prohibitions and censorship in modern society. The mass media space creates a fake reality around us, as if it were sweet candy. But thereby overwriting important topics and censoring our Internet reality.
