Régine is a French painter based in the Occitanie region of southern France. She has developed a distinctive artistic approach called Empreintéisme, built upon hand-painted tissue paper that is individually painted, torn and layered into successive strata.

Rather than reproducing reality, her work seeks to reveal its emotional imprint. Flowers, female figures, birds and intimate interiors become silent witnesses to memory, light and the passing of time. Through transparency, texture and layered fragments, she creates paintings that invite contemplation and encourage viewers to slow down and reconnect with their own emotions.

Her artistic journey has evolved freely over the years, nourished by painting, textile felt art and the creation of poetic performances. These experiences profoundly shaped her sensitivity to light, rhythm and silence, gradually leading to the emergence of Empreintéisme, a visual language where every fragment of paper becomes a fragment of memory.
Her work has been presented in solo exhibitions in France and internationally through digital presentations on screens in ARTBOXY partner galleries in Berlin, Quebec and Basel during Art Basel Week.

In 2025, she was awarded the Certificate of Artistic Merit by the Luxembourg Art Prize. Her work has also been featured in the international publication Visual Art Journal.
Through Empreintéisme, Régine Devarrewaere invites viewers to pause, look beyond appearances and rediscover the quiet poetry of the traces that shape our lives.
